Most shipping apps make you leave the order page. You open another tab, find the same order again, quote it there, book it there, then come back to Shopify to tell it what happened. Fare Freight puts freight where the order already is — quote, consign, manifest, print, return and re-ship, all from Shopify’s own order screen.

Six extension points, all inside Shopify. No second tab, no second login.
You read the address in Shopify. Then you go looking for the same order in a second system to quote it, book it there, and come back to record what happened. The order is where the truth lives, and freight keeps happening somewhere else.

Fare Freight sits inside Shopify’s order screen. If the order is split across more than one fulfilment, you pick the fulfilment you are shipping now, so the freight matches the goods actually going out the door.
Rates come back from the carrier accounts you have connected, priced on that order’s address and your own product dimensions. Choose the service you want and the consignment is created without opening anything else.
Manifest the consignment from the same panel, print the packing slip, and the order carries its own tracking. Need to take something back or send it again? Returns and re-ships start from exactly the same place.
The freight block renders inside Shopify’s order detail page, so the state of the shipment is visible without clicking into anything.
Sending a bulky item back is the part nobody automates. The customer has a spa, a rack or a half-tonne pallet in their driveway, and the store is left arranging a collection over the phone, from an address that isn’t in any freight system.
Fare Freight raises the return from the order it belongs to. You pick the return carrier, set the collection date, and the consignment is created to collect from the customer’s address rather than expecting them to get it to a depot. Return documents come back the same way the outbound ones did, attached to the order.
Re-ship works alongside it, for when the answer isn’t a return but another delivery: a replacement, a missed carton, a second attempt at a refused drop. Neither one asks you to rebuild the consignment from scratch.
Raised against the order, not as a separate job in someone’s inbox.
You are asked which fulfilment you are shipping, rather than being handed the whole order and left to work it out. Orders that go out in stages stay legible to whoever picks them up next.
Turn on document storage and labels, connotes and manifests are saved into your store’s Shopify Files and linked to the order through metafields. The person answering the phone next month can find them without asking anyone.
Connect the carrier and broker accounts you already hold from one screen, and the order page quotes against your own negotiated pricing. New carrier connections get added on request, and custom carrier integration is available on every plan.
Which documents come back — label, connote, manifest, or a hand-off into the carrier’s own portal — depends on the carrier. The app knows the difference before you click, so nothing sits waiting for a file that was never going to arrive.
The slip is a true 4 × 6 in thermal label, drawn straight from your store data rather than fetched from somewhere else. Product images are included so the picker can see what they are looking for, and the type is set with high contrast because thermal printers are not kind to fine lettering.
Long orders paginate on their own: when the items run past one label, the slip continues onto the next page and says so, so nobody hands over half an order thinking it was all of it.
Generated from the order in Shopify, so it prints whether or not anything else is having a bad day.
If the same person takes the call, picks the stock and books the freight, every extra system is a tax on their day. Keeping it on the order page means fewer places to look and fewer things to remember.
New staff already learn the Shopify order page. If freight lives there too, there is no second login, no second screen and no second explanation.
These six extensions are built on Shopify’s own admin extension points, so they exist on Shopify and nowhere else. Fare Freight itself also runs on WooCommerce, Magento and BigCommerce — on those platforms you quote, book and manifest from the Fare Freight dashboard instead.
If yours isn’t here, ask it on a call. Fifteen minutes, no prep needed.
For a single order, no. For a whole day of orders the dashboard is still the better tool — you can quote, ship and manifest in bulk from one screen there. Most stores use both: the order page for one-offs and exceptions, the dashboard for the morning run.
Wherever you tell them to. Print them and they behave like any other document. Switch on document storage and they are also archived into your Shopify Files and linked on the order, so the record stays with the order rather than with the laptop that printed it.
You choose the fulfilment you are shipping now. The freight is created against that fulfilment, and the rest of the order stays exactly where it was.
You raise the return from the order, choose the return carrier and set a collection date, and the consignment is booked to collect from the customer’s address. The return documents come back against the order, so the whole round trip lives in one place.
Yes. Select them in Shopify’s own order list and use the bulk fulfil action there. It is the same freight, run across a selection instead of one order at a time.
Fifteen minutes, your Shopify admin, your carriers. We’ll take one order through quote, consignment, manifest and slip while you watch — and raise a return on it for good measure.
