01 It measures before it quotes
Dimensions, weight and packaging live on every product — up to ten separate boxes for the things that ship in pieces. Multi-item orders are consolidated into the smallest package you actually stock, floor-fitted then stacked, so the quote matches what leaves the door.
02 Your carriers quote it
Rates come back from the carrier and broker accounts you already hold, with your negotiated pricing and whatever markup or discount you choose to apply. Rules sit on top — free shipping over a threshold, a margin on the lanes that always cost more, different terms for trade customers.
03 Then it does the paperwork
Book the consignment, print the label and the manifest, and the order is marked fulfilled with tracking written back and the customer notified. Returns and re-ships run the same way, from inside the order you already have open.

What if the rates don’t come back at checkout?
It’s the right thing to worry about — a checkout with no shipping option is worse than a wrong price. Rates are served from your connected accounts, and the app checks that it’s genuinely registered against each of your delivery zones rather than just assuming it is. If something drifts, you can see it and re-register in a click.
Do I have to enter dimensions for thousands of products?
For the ones you want quoted accurately, yes — but not by hand. There’s spreadsheet import and export, the app can read dimensions from fields you already store, and anything missing falls back to your defaults so nothing ever fails to quote.
Free shipping is our marketing. Does this break it?
No. Keep it where it’s cheap and put a floor under it — free over a cart threshold, per-product free shipping on the items that can carry it, and live rates on the ones that can’t. That’s what Shipping Rules are for.
We already have carrier accounts we like.
Good — keep them. You connect your own credentials and the app quotes against your rates. It doesn’t resell you freight and it doesn’t put itself between you and your carrier.
